Last Full Day In Paradise

Jen's itinerary yesterday consisted of a snorkel, two naps (one under the palm tree frawn and another in the air conditioned room). The water was quite turbulent yesterday (no sea sickness, thankfully! and a little chilly). It has been quite humid the last few days and it sure is nice to step into a/c! Today, I am looking forward to the trapeze, a private photo shoot and actually getting anxious and excited to come home. The mosquitoes love my pina colada lotion...who wouldn't!
Decided to postpone the scuba stuff on this vacation and will wait for scuba master Jason to assist me. Sounds more exciting anyway! :)

Lazy Day Sunday

Jen a.k.a "sugar tooth" started off the morning with a class called power walk that was actually a very sad stroll along the scenic views outside the club...ha! Spent the entire day in the "rockstar" cabana enjoying the sun, partaking in aqua aerobics and a nap while trying to read a french magazine. Yep, that's about it. Two more full days of paradise and then Jen is anxiously and impatiently counting the days till she sees Jason. :)
Jules also spent the entire day lounging in the cabana while her lip and feet recovered. She'll be healed tomorrow for more fun in the sun.
More manana. :)

A Little Recovery Today

So after three bloody mary's and splitting a a bottle of champagne last night, Jen had to spend the morning curled up in a cabana, while Jules spent the morning with a massage overlooking the gorgeous scenery. Not bad! We both decided that sailing lessons would cure my weak stomach and it was a blast. Once again, I was reminded why I do not drink in the first place! Our instructor was from Brazil and very kind. We'll both be sailing again tomorrow and the day after that...and so on! Watched a phenomenal trapeze show and couldn't stay up late enough for the night owls, but looks like tonight may be our night! We're headed right now to yoga on the dock now and then meeting up with our new friends for dinner and dancing later on. Took a long walk down the beach and I made Jules shop with me. Bought the tiniest bathing suit I have ever seen and it will now be considered my "tanning suit" as I do not think I should even stand in this thing! Jules is even more tan today and even though she's applied the 50 sunblock, the rays have gotten to her feet. She'll be spending more time in the shade tomorrow.
All is great. Peace.

La Mer

Very adventurous day...started with scuba tutorials with Nicole as Jules bathed in the sun. Then, many more hours in the pool getting accustomed to the scuba apparatus. Holy moly...I had no idea it would be so difficult to control the water from creeping up my nose! Oh geez, a few more hours in the pool, a ten minute tread and then Sunday we're off for an open water dive. Glad I love the instructor and a new friend, Mary from Montreal. We'll be spending lots of time together the next few days exploring the ocean life and laughing our brains out.
All is good.

We just had a great dinner at the exclusive "La Mer" restaurant and danced to the infamous Turks Club Med theme song...way too funny for words! Yes, drinking bloody marys and Moet Chandon doesn't hurt either. Jules is really tan and having tons of fun! Sailing lessons will have to begin tomorrow. Making lots of friends and looking forward to the next few days of adventures.

Update tomorrow...peace!

Day Three Weeeeeeee!

Well, it's day three and we've survived another evening with the geriatric aerobic dance club members! We didn't join in the fun, as we spent most of our time laughing. We chose to observe and avoid extreme embarrassment!!! This Club Med is a really interesting place:-)

We were bitten by the no see ums and don't have any Deet, so we're bummed:-(

Miss Jennifer took her first scuba class and is on her way to certification. We are looking forward to our sailing lessons, which will probably occur tomorrow depending on how we feel.

On the road to recovery...

Second day and having a difficult time uploading photos...but we will not give up! Today consisted of sun, sun and oh, more sun! We are tan already and we have six days left. Believe me, we are not complaining! Eating well (Julie is eating well and Jen thinks she is starving...thank heavens for peanut crunch bars and diet coke!). Jules scheduled three massages and Jen is scheduled for scuba lessons and we're both taking sailing lessons tomorrow. Life is rough here in Turks! Ha!

We're Here!

After a long day of flights, sniffling noses, sudafed and all, this is exactly what we were looking for. The activities are endless...cardio tennis, the trapeze, snorkeling and diving and of course, Jules is looking forward to daily massages. The water is as turqoise as you could ever asked for and we just took beach naps on a double-chaise lounge under palm trees that were flourishing with coconuts. Imagine that! The weather is perfect and a hint of a breeze (perfect for laying out!).
So now, we're off to venture on a stroll down the beach and we'll be scoping out the entertainment at the main bar tonight (that is, if we can keep our eyes open!).
